about

First full length solo studio album made by Dewey Mahood using a TEAC A-3440 1/4" reel to reel 4-track tape deck. Originally issued as a limited CD on Mahood's Shuffle Boil imprint (renamed a few years later as Solar Commune) early 2002, the home recordings were the result of musical experiments made throughout 2001. At the time Mahood played guitar for the post-punk/free jazz band The Cosmos Group, and many of these songs stemmed from jams with the band. Dewey and Larry Crane had played in the band Elephant Factory through most of the 1990's, spending countless hours discussing Brian Eno, so it was only natural to have Larry mix and add subtle treatments to these songs. The only two guitar pedals used were a Boss DD-3 delay and a 1980's DOD Stereo Chorus.

Thank you Larry, Jacques, Jude, Johnny, The Cosmos Group, Sam Coomes, Hochenkeit, Quasi, Braille Stars, The Planet The, Reeks and The Wrecks, Unwound, Last of the Juanitas.

Re-released on Bandcamp to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album!

A Solar Commune Production.
